Thrown and altered small bottle, underglaze painted and finished with a white crackle glaze, then Raku fired.. The organic form and handle are inspired by gourds and their winding stalks. Chinese-style brush-painted irises bloom at the center of the altered belly, adding a quiet focal point to the piece.
This sculptural art piece stands approximately 8 inches tall. Raku ware is not food safe and should be displayed indoors and protected from UV exposure.
This wheel-thrown, 5 inch tall, lidded jar features a rounded, sculptural form that subtly echoes the posture of a penguin. The surface is finished in layered blazes that flow from deep ocean green into warm, sandy tones creating natural movement and depth across the form. One of the most striking features is how the layered glazes carry seamlessly onto the lid, adding continuity and visual cohesion. Variations in glaze and form emerge naturally through the firing, ensuring each viewing angle offers something slightly different.
