Who we are

Nancy Hardison began her pottery journey in 2021, searching for a grounding practice during a season of change. When she met Nathan Williams in 2023, while he was experimenting with schoolie life, both were standing at turning points in their lives. They quickly bonded over a shared love of pottery and creating with their hands.

With age and experience comes clarity about what truly matters. Between them, Nancy and Nate have lived lives shaped by challenge, reinvention, and hands-on work. Nancy’s path has included science, aquarium design and entrepreneurship, motherhood, and teaching. Nate has moved through military service and fatherhood before finding its strongest expression in the kitchen as a chef and baker, where function, form, and daily use matter most.

With clean slates and shared purpose, Tabula Rasa Clay was born. Drawing from two lifetimes of experience, Nancy and Nate find endless inspiration in functional pottery. While both love hand building, it is the act of throwing and centering clay that gives shape to what they had been missing: peace, a voice, and a partner in crime.
